■ Ski tour in Aizu

This is a present for themselves after graduation.

After graduation on 3/22, some students went skiing with the SNG staff members. From 3/22 to 3/25, like a mini-travel, they were in Kanayama-cho in Aizu-city.
They had to spend one night in the bus (such a pity), but the next morning, they could see beautiful nature and clear blue skies (FYI: Please look at the pictures. One lake is clear like a mirror...) They were welcomed by the Kanayama-cho people.
There were lots of events for us, for example, one AVI-file is put below. Please see it. The file suggests this event was very goodAVI-fil).
Some students skied for the first time on this trip, so they sometimes fell down and crashed into other students, but they enjoyed it enough and didn't get injured at all. SNG staff members and teachers said, "We want to ski some more!" We can reasonably state that this program ended in success.
We have some knowledge about short-term home stay programs (for example, Ama-cho homestay 2005/08), so we will plan other programs like this one in the future.

■ Start in new school term

2007's spring term was began on 4/7.

We welcomed new students (the number is about 230!) on 4/7. Most of them will stay here for about 1 or 2 years. We think that they may have some hope and fears. So we will support them and hope their Japanese life is going to be good and comfortable.

■ Mini travel tour "Night sightseeing in Shinjyuku "

We went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to go sightseeing at night in Shinjuku on 4/28.

About 80 students including newcomers went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to go sightseeing in Shinjuku on the night of 4/28. After school, they gathered at 5 pm, went to Shinjuku by JR-train. There is the ODAKYU-department outside the west gate (center picture), TAKASHIMAYA-times square and NTT docomo building (right picture) outside the south gate. They are becoming landmarks of Shinjuku.

Our goal was the observatory of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government located on the top floor (left picture). There is a legend that goes, "At midnight, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building transforms into a big robot and watches over the city to protect us." After our sightseeing, we took a picture in front of the Shinjuku Island Tower's patio (right picture).
