■ Martial art in the TOTSUKA PS

We went to see Kobu-do this year again at the Totsuka police office, located near our third building.

At the police station, we watched the Iai-do, Ken-do, Ju-do and learned how to protect ourselves from dangerous situations. The police officers spared their busy time for us.
At this event, we first saw the Iai-do, it’s similar to martial arts, which is rarely known to the public. Next, we saw the performance of Ken-do, Ju-do, and the techniques to defend ourselves. Our 60 students watched, laughed, and enjoyed themselves at this event. They gazed at the officer’s superior performance, and they even participated in different events such as Ju-do and Ken-do. The gallant woman in the picture above is our student. But some students were full of fear to try it. I have also learned Ken-do and Ju-do kinder garden, junior high, and high school years but unfortunately I have forgotten it all.
This event was suggested by Mr. Satake in the letter to our president. Mr. Satake was and still is our president’s old school mate becoming good friends when they were in the 14th old sea force. Both of them are at an old age, but they are aggressive and are in good health. I sincerely hope that we can have this great event next year again.
