Project Presentation (Chukyu2 Tokushin)

On August 28, 2025, the Intermediate Level 2 Special Advancement class held its project presentation session.
This report focuses on two groups, whose themes were “International Relationships” and “The Daily Life of International Students in Japan.”

The group presenting on “International Relationships” conducted a survey with 14 couples, exploring diverse aspects such as country of origin, how the couples first met, and the languages used in daily conversation.

Their presentation went beyond simply presenting figures; they also offered thoughtful reflections on why the results turned out as they did and what insights they personally gained through the research. This analytical depth engaged the audience strongly.

One particularly interesting finding was that, although relatively few students had direct experience with international relationships, a surprisingly large number expressed strong interest in the topic.
Because the survey was carried out within the student community, the audience listened attentively with a sense of personal connection.

At times, moments of laughter lightened the atmosphere, creating a memorable balance of seriousness and humor.

The second group, which explored “The Daily Life of International Students in Japan”, surveyed 60 students, mainly from Asian countries.

Regarding their impressions before arriving in Japan, 38.3% responded with “a safe society,” followed by 35% who expected “a convenient lifestyle.”
After experiencing life in Japan, students generally confirmed that Japan is indeed both safe and convenient. However, many were struck by the country’s cultural emphasis on punctuality. This sentiment resonated with the audience, who nodded in strong agreement.

The group further analyzed the results by region. They highlighted, for example, that students from Southeast Asia, where a more relaxed sense of time is common, often found that living in Japan instilled a new habit of strict punctuality.

In conclusion, the group summarized the differences between expectations and reality, the challenges encountered during their stay, the personal growth that resulted, and valuable advice for future international students. Their presentation left a lasting impression on all who attended.
