Advanced Level 2 Students Rediscover Takadanobaba!

On October 17, under clear autumn skies, the Advanced Level 2 students set out on a journey to rediscover the Takadanobaba area!

Their adventure began in the classroom, where each group gathered to plan their ideal route. Some groups quickly agreed on their destinations, while others took their time, but there were just too many interesting spots to choose from!

The first group headed to Kansen-en Garden, a peaceful park loved by SNG students. Surrounded by seasonal beauty, they watched fish and turtles swim in the pond, though one student mistook a very still turtle for a sculpture!

The next group visited Ana Hachiman Shrine. The vivid red Zuishin Gate shone brightly under the blue sky, leaving everyone in awe. Cameras clicked nonstop as students tried to capture the moment.

At the Higo Hosokawa Garden, two groups happened to meet by chance! They enjoyed chatting for a while against the beautiful backdrop of a Meiji-era style garden before setting off again on their own routes. Other groups made their way to Waseda University, with the Haruki Murakami Library as their goal. Captivated by the library’s artistic design and serene atmosphere, the students quietly browsed the shelves. One student from Germany was especially excited to find a collection of German literature and eagerly began reading.

Another group visited Horinji Temple, where they were drawn to the stunning hanachozu—flower arrangements floating on water. Phones and cameras were constantly snapping photos, and some students joyfully picked out floral-themed charms as souvenirs.

The final stop was St. Mary’s Cathedral Tokyo, the most popular spot among the students. One student from Italy smiled as they said the place even smelled like the churches back home.

Their journey ended at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, where everyone gathered with their teachers for a cheerful group photo—a perfect way to wrap up a day full of discovery and laughter.
